On 29th august I set out for Kedarnath Mountain from Delhi for trekking along with my friends. This was the first ever motorbike trip of my life. We covered more than 1000kms in 3 days. We visited places like Kotdwara, Pauri, Lansdowne, Srinagar [Garhwal], Rudraprayag, Gaurikund and finally trekked 14kms to Kedarnath Mountain. The biking part was exciting but the trekking was memorable. We had to spend in a stable with horse as it was raining and there was no light at 7:00pm. With out food and with wet cloths on we slept. This was unique and unforgettable for all of us. We started the trekking from Gaurkund at 4:00pm and ended next morning. We spent the night 3.5kms away from Kedarnath. The sight through out the trekking was magnificent. We enjoyed the sunset and experienced the cold rain at 3500 meters. River Alkananda was flowing in its full flow and creating music. We took a dip in the crystal clear water and refreshed ourselves at Satpuli that moring. We saw the temple at Kedarnath. It was a marvelous sight. This place is covered by snow-capped mountains and heavenly atmosphere. Green grass, river, snow and a shinning sun what else you want away from the crowded streets in Delhi. We all were happy to reach this sacred place. We came back to Delhi next day morning biking through out the night. We promised to go for a Delhi-Leh bike trip in 2009 June. Now we are again back to work….. I would soon update the photographs.
